How to Apply to Ranger College

Starting your journey at Ranger College is simple and straightforward. Whether you’re a recent high school graduate, returning student, or transferring from another institution, we’re here to guide you every step of the way.

Steps to Apply:

  1. Complete the Application

    • Fill out the online application that comes up. There will be a submit button at the end of the application. If you do not get this submit button you have either missed a question or answered incorrectly. In addition to the application the following documents will be required before you will be able to register for classes. Apply to Ranger College
  2. Submit Required Documents

      • Students who have not attended any other college must turn in an official high school transcript. For a
        transcript to be official it must come from the high school to our office electronically or must be sent to
        our office in a sealed envelope from the high school. It must include a graduation date in order to be
        official.

      • Students who have previously attended college must send official college transcripts from any college
        they have attended. These can be sent electronically to our office, or they must be in a sealed envelope
        from the college.

      • Student-athletes must have both official high school and college transcripts if applicable.

      Students should submit official transcripts or a copy of their GED to the college as well as their official college entrance, alternative, or exemption test scores (if not already noted on the transcript). You may have official transcripts emailed to registrar@rangercollege.edu or mailed to Ranger College Admissions 1240 College Circle, Ranger, TX 76470.  If you have any questions please call 254-267-7019.

       

      Under the requirements of a law enacted by the Texas State Legislature, students who are under 22 years of age and entering higher education in the spring of 2014 (and any semesters following) must demonstrate proof of  vaccination against bacterial meningitis. Bacterial Meningitis vaccinations  are only good for 5 years, if it has been more than 5 years since your last Bacterial Meningitis vaccine you must get an updated shot before enrolling. Students should fill out the meningitis form on the right and select Option 1 or 2. If student chooses option 1, the following forms may be needed:

      Conscientious Objection Form

      * Only for new students who are NOT residing in on-campus housing and who wish to file an affidavit stating that the student declines the vaccination for reasons of conscience.

      NOTE: This is only required if you plan to enroll in online-only courses and excludes all Dual Credit applicants. If you plan to register for online-only courses, you will need to take a picture of yourself with your valid picture I.D. An acceptable, valid picture I.D. includes state-issued, driver’s license, passport, military-issued, etc. This picture will need to be emailed to the Registrar’s Office at registrar@rangercollege.edu. If you are unsure if you have an acceptable I.D. or need assistance, please contact the Registrar’s Office.

  3. SAT. ACT or TSI scores are required if previous college courses in English, Reading, and Math have not been successfully completed.

    • ACT score must be at least a composite score of 23 with an English and Math score of 19.

    • ACT administered on or after February 15, 2023: A combined score of 40 on the English and Reading (E+R) tests shall be exempt from both the reading and writing or ELAR section of the TSI assessment.

    • A score of 22 on the mathematics tests shall be exempt from the mathematics section of the TSI assessment.

    • SAT scores must be 480 or above for EBRW and 530 or above for Math.If the SAT or ACT scores are below the threshold, the TSI test will be required for enrollment.
